Like most couples, Samantha & Andrew spent about 12 months planning their wedding. But when the Woolsey Fire in Malibu broke out the day before their wedding, everything had to change [read the full story of their overnight wedding relocation here].
To go through such an ordeal and maintain your sanity, you have to be a pretty amazing couple and that is exactly what we were working with, an amazing couple! He [in her words] can make her laugh in any situation and always puts her needs first, while she [in his words] has a really weird sense of humor that makes most normal things seem new. Though not exempt to worry, these two had all the faith they needed to make it through their crazy, but beautiful wedding weekend.
Even though their original venue was more of a Garden setting, their design and overall preferences worked really well with the Farmhouse flare. Bringing in deep bold tones in Navy, Burgundy and Gold with pops of sheer ivory draping to soften the barn [these were not part of the original design at the garden setting].
Their guests had been through a lot leading up to the wedding, navigating the fires, so it was so nice to see the relief on everyones faces as they arrived on property. Not only had they made it safely, but it was time to celebrate! We had almost complete attendance with the move from Malibu to The Oceanview Farm in Carpinteria. The highlight of the night, was when the Father of the Bride gave his toast. He explained that in their heart of hearts, they know that they were meant to be at this venue all along!
